Dear Friends,
First of all, let me personally welcome each and everyone to our little mountain valley church called Brookside.
We are nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a wonderful place called Sugar Grove, VA. Founded in October of 1988 by Pastor Donald Medley, wife Carolyn, and family, our Church was built on three principles which still hold fast today:
First, the "LOVE OF GOD" (John 3:16 KJV); second, the "WORD OF GOD" (Psalm 119:105 KJV); and thirdly, the "LOVE OF ONE ANOTHER" (John 13:34 KJV). We believe in the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins (Colossians 1:14 KJV), that we should follow Christ's example in water baptism (Colossians 2:12 KJV) and that our salvation is not of our good works (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV).
We are a "come as you are" church, but we hope as you enter these doors, you'll not leave the same way you came in. First, because Jesus Christ has begun a new work in you, and secondly because you were shown love, compassion, and greeted with a smile, a warm hug, or a handshake. When you look around, all you'll find are sinners saved by God's Grace and washed in His precious blood. It has always been the hope of Brookside to be a place of refuge to the ones that nobody else wants and that they would feel welcome here.
So WELCOME to Brookside; WELCOME to a place we call home. We hope upon entering these doors you'll always find "THE WORD" being preached, that "JESUS SAVES", Songs of Praise are being sung, prayers are being lifted up, and that you too can call this place,Brookside, "HOME". We're not for everybody, but we're for somebody.
